Finding your voice (and confidence)
Right, let's talk about confidence. Or rather, the lack of it.
You know that feeling when you're in a meeting and you have a brilliant idea, but you don't speak up because you're worried it might sound daft? Or when you don't reach out to that dream client because you've convinced yourself you're not qualified enough?
Yup. Sounds familiar to me.
Rewind to even 18 months ago, there is no way I would have showed up consistently on LinkedIn, let alone show my face or heaven forbid, share a picture of myself.
Feeling low in confidence can show up in many ways:
- Self-doubt (your inner critic working overtime)
- Fear of failure (better not to try than to fail, right? Wrong!)
- Perfectionism (if it's not perfect, it's not good enough)
- Imposter syndrome (waiting for someone to rumble you as a fraud)
- Difficulty accepting praise (surely they're just being nice?)
The truth? Low confidence can hold you back from reaching your full potential.
(I get 99.9% of my leads from LinkedIn these days)
It's like driving with the handbrake on - you can still move, but you're not going anywhere fast.
This is something I work with my clients on all the time. We work on reframing negative self-talk, building self-awareness, and developing strategies to boost your confidence in a genuine, lasting way.
Because here's the thing - confidence isn't about being the loudest person in the room. It's about trusting in your abilities and being willing to stretch yourself. And with the right support, it's a skill that can be developed.
Remember, you are capable of far more than you think. Isn't it time you started believing that?
