Why do small business owners resist structure?
This is something I see all the time. So many SME owners set up and vow never to be like the corporate they worked for. No KPI’s, no boring appraisals, no dull contracts or forms or processes.
I get it. Those things take time, take you out of your flow and doing the things you love.
But what happens when your team don’t really know what is expected of them? They don’t know how to perform at the levels you want? Someone leaves and nicks your data? Or goes off sick for three months and you can’t get hold of them?
This happens all the time.
The result? Huge amounts of stress, overwhelm and anxiety for said business owners.
But there can be a middle ground. A happy medium to create transparency and accountability without the burden of corporate rules.
